Immigration Advisor

Sheffield| £20k – £24k

Our prestigious client who is a specialist in their field is looking to recruit an experienced Immigration Advisor to join their successful team at their Sheffield Office. The Role:

To liaise with all clients by providing information and advice on Immigration/Asylum Law and procedure

Skills and Experience required:

- Professional communication skills both written and oral

- Excellent organisational skills

- Proven interpersonal skills

- Experience of working to legal time limits and a heavy caseload

- Three years experience in the provision of advice in a legal environment

- Working knowledge in the area of Immigration and Asylum Law and Practice

- Ability to formulate legal written representations

- LLB or Law Related Degree

- Fully accredited to OISC level 3

- Senior Caseworker level 2 IAAS

    Reporting directly to the Managing Director your main responsibilities will include:

    - Ability to assist both private and legal aided funded clients

    - Provide information and advice on Immigration, Nationality and Asylum law, UK Border Agency, procedures and policy to clients at appointments and walk-in surgeries

    - Provide information to clients regarding progress in a case

    - Assist clients in completion of relevant documents as required

    - Prepare documentation, including letters and other correspondence in relation to clients’ cases

    - Document case work and maintain client files to the standards in all aspects of work

    - Maintain company’s advice statistics and records and ensure that forms are correctly completed

    - Maintain professional conduct, and uphold the integrity and reputation of the company at all times

    - Provide training in house to other colleagues, especially when having attended training courses.

    - Keep up-to-date with changes in Immigration, Nationality and Asylum law by reading and attending training courses

    - Work to set targets set for private and Legal Service cases

    - Complete own administration

      Hours of work:

      Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm – However a degree of flexibility will be required due to the nature of the role.
