Production Manager – Injection Moulding

Our prestigious client is a leading manufacturer within the plastics industry. Due to continued expansion they are looking to recruit an experienced Production Manager to join their successful team. The Role:

The Production Manager will play a key role in ensuring maximum production at the lowest possible cost and adhere to the approved quality standard whilst directing and managing the production personnel.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent Production Management experience
  • A background within the plastics industry is preferred, but would consider individuals from a dynamic high volume and progressive manufacturing environment (FMCG)
  • Posses strong leadership and team building skills
  • Be persuasive with influencing and relationship management skills
  • Posses excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Results orientated with ability to deliver results in a rapidly changing environment
  • Confident Team Player
  • Ability to demonstrate effective decision making skills and working independently without guidance
  • Target driven with the ability to prioritise own workload
  • 5 – 10 years experience of working within a similar role
  • Experience of dealing with a £40 million plus turnover

Reporting directly to the Operations Director your main responsibilities will include:

  • Review and ensure the production plan is followed and achieved
  • Achieve minimum machine efficiency of 85%
  • Control scrap level to a maximum of 3%
  • Ensure part item stocks are used efficiently
  • Produce Daily, Weekly and Monthly production and raw materials usage reports
  • Follow and adhere to all Health and Safety processes to meet legislative requirements at all times
  • Maintain and improve the tidiness and cleanliness of the production and material area at all times
  • Make recommendations for improvements to Plant, Tool and Equipment maintenance and performance
  • Minimise raw material consumption
  • Explain deviations and take the appropriate corrective action

Hours of work:

Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm however a degree of flexibility will be required due to the nature of the role.
