Shift Technical Leader

Our prestigious client is a leading manufacturer within the plastics industry. Due to continued expansion they are looking to recruit an experienced Shift Technical Leader to join their successful team. The Role:

The Shift Technical Leader will play a key role in maximising production through continually improving efficiency of machinery, raw materials and personnel whilst ensuring all aspects of the Company Policies in respect of Health & Safety, Personnel and Quality Assurance are implemented correctly whilst managing the Shift Supervisor, Machine Setters and the Support Operatives.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Must have previous background in Injection Moulding or Blow Moulding within the plastics industry
  • Possess excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Results orientated with ability to deliver results in a rapidly changing environment
  • Confident Team Player
  • Proactive and positive “can do” attitude
  • Flexible, highly motivated and driven with the ability to prioritise own workload
  • 5 – 10 years experience of working within a similar role
  • Experience with Billion/Sandretto/Engle/Arburg machines ranging from 60tonne to 1000tonnes and Robots Star and Sepro would be advantageous but not essential as full training will be given

Reporting directly to the Production Manager your main responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare the labour plan to ensure you meet the production plan
  • Monitor daily the actual performance against plan
  • Maximise utilisation of raw material
  • Maximise the efficiency of production staff
  • Ensure all staff comply with Health & Safety regulations and procedures at all times
  • Ensure all members of staff are given Company policy relating to Personnel, Health & Safety and Quality Assurance
  • Prepare a weekly production report evaluating plan versus actual and suggesting corrective action with a timetable for completion
  • Liaise with maintenance and planning to establish maintenance schedules
  • Use (Mattec) to maximise and record output efficiency
  • Use pack specifications and quality requirements
  • Evaluate training requirements and suggest ways of ensuring the requirements are met

Hours of work:

Monday – Friday working on a 3 Shift Pattern: Days, Afternoons and Nights
