Business Development Manager

Worksop | £30K – £38K – Depending on Experience OTE £50K

Our prestigious client the UK’s leading energy consultant; continually transforming the way businesses purchase and reduce energy on a daily basis throughout the UK. Due to continued expansion they are looking to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to join their successful team and assist with their growth strategy. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing and successful national market leader and work in a team who collectively achieves excellence.

The Role:

Originating from a proven sales background the Business Development Manager will play a key role as part of the Commercial Team to present the companies’ portfolio of services and products in order to successfully secure sales budgets and raise our clients profile as a quality energy consultancy.

• Proven track record of exceeding sales targets – business to business
• Passionate about sales and client negotiation
• Exceptional interpersonal skills leading to the closure of business transactions
• Professional, friendly and outgoing personality with strength of character
• Confident speaker with exceptional presentational skills
• Strong communicator at all levels
• Initiative and self drive
• Commercial Acumen
• Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Flexibility to travel (within a defined area)
• Confident, team player
• Qualifications in business and/or marketing
• Knowledge of the Energy supply B2B industry would be beneficial
• Knowledge of business solar & lighting upgrades
• Knowledge of energy monitoring and management

Reporting directly to the Commercial Manager your main responsibilities will include:

• Establish strong relationships and develop a client base that has specific requirements for our energy services
• Visit and meet potential new clients and advise them through our energy purchasing, reduction and management strategies
• Deliver sales targets in accordance with required statutory guidelines
• Maintain and update an accurate database of prospective and existing clients
• Manage diary and meetings in line with targets
• Prepare and deliver client seminars & presentations
• Provide marketing input and branding opportunities to the Marketing Department
• Work with the relevant departments in-house to prepare bids, negotiate and close
• Accurately handover opportunities to the Technical Services Team
• Account manage clients and provide the highest standards of customer service
• Provide weekly reports on area activity to the Commercial Manager
• Represent the company in a professional and trusted manor
• Maintain industry knowledge and competitor intelligence

Hours of work

Monday – Friday – 9.00am – 5.00pm with an hour for lunch
