Multi-Disciplined Senior Service & Maintenance Engineer

Our prestigious client is undergoing an exciting level of growth and expansion. They are now looking for a highly experienced and motivated Multi-Disciplined Senior Security, Service and Maintenance Engineer to join their successful team and assist with their growth strategy. The Role:

The primary focus of the role is to effectively respond to faults logged by customers, with a focus on customer service and first time fix. You will also be expected to undertake some small works and preventative maintenance tasks however the company does employ full time installation teams and full time servicing teams.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Must be fluent in installation and cabling techniques, networking, IT and computer literate and proficient at fault finding and the maintenance of digital and analogue CCTV Systems, Intruder Alarms and Access Control Systems
  • Possess an in depth knowledge of CCTV Systems; including experience of installing, commissioning and maintaining IP CCTV, Analytics and Remote Transmission
  • Extensive experience of installing, maintaining and servicing commercial grade Intruder Alarm Systems, ideally with knowledge of Galaxy and Texecom systems
  • Experience installing and maintaining standalone, networked and IP Access Control Solutions, and must have extensive knowledge of Paxton Net2 product; knowledge of other manufacturers such as Honeywell WinPak would be an advantageous but not essential
  • Fully IT literate including in-depth knowledge of IP networking and setting up of switches and routers, and the use of Microsoft office programs such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Confident when liaising with clients and other on-site trades regarding our works and systems to obtain relevant information required for the task, you will also be required to liaise with internal teams regarding specification requirements
  • Possess incredibly strong problem solving skills, including problem detection and repairing system faults by implementing a logical approach
  • Experienced in the full testing and commissioning of systems including, completing system records and updating as fitted specifications and drawings to required standards
  • Capable of handing over systems and delivering client training to ensure they understand the systems installed
  • Ability to manage personal stock, tools and van management
  • Advise the office based team of job progress and provide them with technical support when required and assist with “in-office” projects from time to time
  • Undertake administrative duties as required; this will involve the completion of time sheets and expense claim forms as well as preparing detailed plans of sites and completing and updating site documents
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety and Environmental requirements, complying with any additional company and clients’ requirements
  • Assist with System design, Project Specification/recommendation, Costing and Planning as and when required
  • Willing to undertake further training and hold a valid UK driving licence and CSCS card (or equivalent)
  • Ability to work effectively on your own and sometimes under pressure, along with the capacity to work with, train and supervise one to two apprentices
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a comparable role together with good knowledge of these systems
