Our client is an independent forward thinking organisation specialising in business to business distribution with national coverage in the UK and Republic of Ireland. The company provides their customers with Marketing, Sales, Distribution and Customer Service all under one roof. Due to continued expansion our client is looking to recruit an experienced ASP.Net Web Application Developer to join their successful team.   • You must be used to working under pressure and switching tasks at short notice to resolve issues and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate technical issues and projects to a non-technical audience
  • Web API and SOAP web services
  • Working knowledge of responsive design, ideally using Bootstrap
  • Use of Design Patterns following SOLID principles
  • Working in an Agile / Scrum environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL SSRS report creation
  • C# ASP.Net ideally using MVC 4, 5
  • JavaScript/JQuery
  • Use of Team Foundation Server’s Source Control or SVN Source Control Software
  • Visual Studio development environments 2010, 2013
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 minimum

Reporting directly to the IT Director your main responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting all Server Databases, ensuring availability and security is maintained to a high standard
  • Specification, installation and maintenance of database applications and systems equipment in accordance with corporate, business and legal policies
  • Provide 3rd line support to the applications team
  • Completing development tasks to specification in accordance with the software development lifecycle and standards
  • Creating and maintaining detailed technical and operational documentation for support reference and future development
  • You will also be required to perform work responsibilities and respond appropriately to the urgency of situations inside and outside of standard business hours

Hours of work:

Monday – Friday 9.00am – 5.00pm however a degree of flexibility will be required due to the nature of the role.
