Quantity Surveyor

Doncaster | £40k + Company Car or Car Allowance

Our prestigious client is a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy offering a flexible and dynamic product tailored to meet the needs and requirements of all their clients and partners throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and expansion they are now looking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor /Estimator to join their successful team. The Role:

The Quantity Surveyor / Estimator will play a key role primarily to support our client and its clients with feasibility, tender and procurement works.

Skills and Experience required:

  • A Construction related degree, preferably in Quantity Surveying although others will be considered
  • Knowledge of MS Office, Excel, Project and Word
  • Industry experience of being an Estimator & /or Quantity Surveyor
  • Commercial acumen
  • Ability of meeting targets and deadlines
  • Experience of data confidentiality
  • Self motivated, confident team player
  • Results driven – focused approach
  • Flexible, adaptable and resilient
  • CSCS card
  • Full and valid UK Driving Licence
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and stay away as and when required

Reporting directly to the Managing Director your main responsibilities will include:

  • Promote the company mission and adhere to its core principles & values
  • Continue personal and professional development
  • Help build relationships throughout the supply chain
  • Represent the company in its best interests at all times
  • Treat all information as confidential
    Feasibility Appraisals and Cost Plans
  • Production of schedules of work and bills of quantities
  • Preparation of other contract documents including contract particulars, preliminaries and specifications
  • Production of material schedules
  • Collate and resolve tender queries
  • Preparation of Contract Enquiry Packages – Main Contract or Sub-Contract
  • Management of the Procurement Process
  • Materials & Supplier Procurement – Strategic or Project specific
  • Maximise value-engineering opportunities
  • Be able to spot opportunities in tenders to secure a competitive edge
  • Vetting of potential suppliers & sub-contractors
  • Advice on project procurement options, contracts and tender procedures
  • Report and present tender submissions to clients prior to final submission
  • Cost Plans and Project Cost Forecasting
  • Measurement & Quantification of Tender Materials/BOQ Production
  • Valuing Ongoing or Planned Works
  • Cost/Value Reconciliation
  • Final Accounts & Auditing

Hours of work:

Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm however a degree of flexibility will be required due to the nature of the role.
